Why did we start
A micro design studio built on big values.
Buttermark was born in spring 2025, when we both found ourselves without jobs, and with no desire to join a company that didn’t reflect our values.
So we made our own.
We’re a two-person design studio that believes in collaboration, creativity, and doing things properly. We bring brands to life through good conversation, smart thinking, and a whole lot of Post-it notes. We care deeply about the people behind the businesses we work with and we hope that shows in everything we do.

After 7 years at Rocketmakers, Alice was ready to build something more personal. She’s all about bringing people’s ideas to life in ways that are beautiful, strategic, and packed with feeling.
She’s won Creative Bath’s Young Creative and FutureSpark at The Sparkies—and while awards are nice, Alice is most proud of helping founders realise their vision. She believes good branding makes people feel something, and her work proves it.
Two of her past projects have gone on to win Best Digital Design, but her real joy comes from the messy, magical middle where strategy meets creativity.
